Married Outside the Church?

Would you like to have your marriage blessed as a Sacrament?

The pastor of Sacred Heart would be happy to help you with this. Some of the steps an engaged couple would make may be applicable to the process of preparation for the marriage blessing. Simply contact the church office to set up a time with the priest to discuss the steps necessary to receive the blessing.

Have you or your spouse been married before?

If so, a discussion concerning an annulment for all previous marriages will be included in the initial meeting with the priest. The priest will be very happy to help you with any annulment processes. All previous marriages, whether Catholic or non-Catholic, of either partner, whether Catholic or non-Catholic, will need to obtain an annulment prior to beginning the marriage blessing process.

Are you currently struggling in your marriage Relationship?

The words of consent exchanged on your wedding day provide rich reflection for those married for years & call out to Almighty God to shower you with his grace, love and mercy. When going through a rough period of time, pray these vows each day calling upon the grace of the sacrament to strengthen you and your spouse.

Priest: Since it is your intention to enter the covenant of Holy Matrimony, join your right hands and declare your consent before God and his Church.

Groom: I, (name), take you, (name), to be my wife. I promise to be faithful to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love you and to honor you all the days of my life.

Bride: I, (name), take you, (name), to be my husband. I promise to be faithful to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love you and to honor you all the days of my life.
